Hoops4Health Cheshire Champions
Hoops4Health Cheshire champions book their place in the Hoops4health final in
front of a packed Northgate crowd.
Four Hoops4health teams from across Cheshire and Vale Royal took to the court at
the Northgate Arena on Sunday the 13th of March to battle it out for a place at the
prestigious Hoops4Health Final of Finals. All of the team's competing booked their
place in the semi final by winning their own regional tournaments earlier on in the
competition.
The prize all of the teams were hoping to bag was a pass through last stage of the
competition and for a chance to represent the Cheshire Jets at the Hoops4Health
final in Birmingham, during the BBL Play off Final in May.
Upton Primary School in Macclesfield beat Mickle Trafford Primary school 2-1 in the
first game of the Tournament. Whilst Sandbach school, Moseley Primary
convincingly beat Chester school Malpas Allport 4-0.
Moseley Primary School were crowned the eventual winners after they narrowly
beat Chester contenders Mickle Trafford Village Primary with a last second basket to
level the scores at two all. Both teams then took part in a thrilling shoot out in front
of the Northgate home crowd to secure their place in the next round of the
Hoops4Health finals.
Jets Director Peter Hawkins said, "It was a great result for Moseley Primary to make
it through to the final of finals, the pinnacle of the Hoops4Health programme. All
the teams who took part in the regional tournaments showed a great range of
basketball skills and determination. We wish Moseley the best of luck for the 10th
of April"
