PowerForward
Power Forward is a training and
motivational programme that aims to
give unemployed people the confidence
and skills to restart their career.
It is a 10 week course run in partnership
with Job Centre Plus. It is open to job
seekers who have been out of work for
six months or more. Through twice
weekly full day sessions the participants
focus on their job search, interview
techniques, CV writing and other softer
skills through both theory and practical
group work. Local employers are invited
to present their business and what they
look for in the recruitment process.
The course also features a two week
work placement giving the participants a
chance to rediscover the day to day
demands of a normal working day. As
well as the work placement clients are
given the opportunity to organise a
networking meeting for selected
businesses in partnership with The Best
of Chester.
