Education Diploma / BTEC - Event Management Module Jets Foundation Event management  is a 6 week course using basketball as an educational medium for students studying sport & business studies courses. Participants will look at the club as a business getting a real insight into how the organisation is run. During classes students will investigate different areas of the organisation (Marketing, Risk assessment, Health & safety, Business processes & others). The course combines sport, business and education -  with the vital hands on experience of helping to run a Pro team match night event with up to  1,000 spectators giving the students a real life business experience in a environment that fully engages the young people. By the end of the course by the end a learner should be able to: 1: Understand the importance of effective administration and information management 2: Be able to use project management skills to plan a business event 3: Be able to organise and support a meeting 4: Be able to assess risks The content is created by our staff with 20+ years teaching experience. It is a 10 week course run in partnership with Job Centre Plus. It is open to job seekers who have been out of work for six months or more.  Through twice weekly full day sessions the participants focus on their job search, interview techniques, CV writing and other softer skills through both theory and practical group work. Local employers are invited to present their business and what they look for in the recruitment process.  The course also features a two week work placement giving the participants a chance to rediscover the day to day demands of a normal working day. As well as the work placement clients are given the opportunity to organise a networking meeting for selected businesses in partnership with The Best of Chester. Education
